Leaping Bytes provides a platform for both commercial software product development and software development contracting. Leaping Bytes focuses on enriching the set of J2EE technologies by blending them with open source projects.
Andrei Tchijov, founder and CEO, has over 20 years of software product development experience in a variety of languages and environments. Since 1995 he has led development teams at Digital Analysis Corporation, Legent Corporation, Computer Associates International, and most recently at Sequation, Inc.
Equally comfortable working on his own or managing a team of high-level developers, Andrei consistently delivers cutting-edge products.
At Digital Analysis Corporation, Andrei developed selected components of the company's enterprise management product line, specializing in distributed componentized infrastructure and the implementation and tuning of management protocol stacks. He ultimately assumed a leadership role in the design and development of major new product releases to improve performance, scalability and functionality.
At Legent, he was the principal engineer for AgentWorks and the technical lead for the AgentWorks product line. This product line included the AgentFactory, for building surveillance and instrumentation components; the Domain Manager, for scaleable correlation, modeling and management of the domains of managed objects; and multiple graphical applications for visualizing the dynamic state of enterprise resources.
When Computer Associates acquired Legent, Andrei worked as a principal engineer for distributed infrastructure and real-time instrumentation, surveillance, correlation and modeling infrastructure for Unicenter TNG. He served as the technical and architectural lead for the Agent Technologies components. He was responsible for design, implementation and ongoing performance optimization of the Agent Technologies Object Request Broker (ORB)-based infrastructure, common services, and "Agent Basic" portable scripting language for correlation of real-time instrumentation received from hundreds of thousands of network, system and application agents. He led a team that ported AgentWorks from UNIX/Motif to Windows NT and internationalized software for translation and sale in Europe and Asia-Pac countries.
Andrei co-founded Sequation, Inc. to develop technology for Internet infrastructure with application in real-time data center operations management as well as strategic quality of service metrics design, deployment, and publication. He was the principal designer of the new patent-pending software to provide massively scalable grid-based solutions that maintain administrative ease with the exponential growth of hosts, services, users, and processing workload. He managed a team of software product developers and established software engineering methodology for source code control, unit testing, defect tracking and continuous build/test automation.
