Almost VPN does not send passphrase

Almost VPN does not send passphrase even though it's configured in the password field in version 0.9.8 using OS X 10.4.4:

  1. What do you see when you click on "Show password" checkbox on accounts tab?
  2. Start Keychain Access ( /Applications/Utils ). Do you see "AlmostVPN" keychain?
  3. Click on AlmostVPN keychain. Do you see entry for jerry@oicw.ba-dsg.net?
  4. Click on jerry@oicw.ba-dsg.net. Click on "Show password" check box. Have you been asked for "keychain password"?

NOTE: If you really want to see what is stored in keychain for jerry@oicw.ba-dsg.net, you can get keychain password from almostVPN@almostVPN entry in your login keychain. But it is very random, very long and you can not cut/paste in Keychain Access.

#1. I get prompted for a password to see the passphrase and then I see the correct passphrase.

#2. No, only sudo@almostvpn

#3. N/A since #2 doesn't show

#4. I'm asked for a password. It doesn't specifically say "keychain password"

So you can see proper password when you click "Show password", but you do not see entry in AlmostVPN keychain? What will happen if you restart System Preferences? Do you still see password when you click "Show password"?

Yes, show password correctly shows the passphrase.

I have restarted system preferences a few times and it hasn't changed the behaviour.

Very strange. If it is not in they keychain, than where it could be stored? Could you please either e-mail to support@leapingbytes.com or attach to this ticket following file: 

~/Library/Preferences/com.leapingbytes.AlmostVPN.plist

NOTE: This file should not contain any passwords. If you want you can replace user names and actual host names/addresses with placebo.

After a reinstall, I can now see the AlmostVPN keychain. However, when I try to access the "show password" within Access Keychain, I keep getting an incorrect password message. I can see passwords that are not in the AlmostVPN keychain.

When you asked for password by Keychain Access, it is not for your password, but for keychain password. In any case, the fact that you have been asked the password indicate that there is an entry there.

So is it true that "... after reinstall..." you can see AlmostVPN keychain, you can see jerry@oicw.ba-dsg.net entry in this keychain and when you are trying to do "show password" on this entry, you get asked for "keychain password"?

If all above is true, do you still have the problem with passphrase?

I can show the password correctly from within the System Preferences but not from within Keychain Access. When trying to start Almost VPN, I still get a passphrase error.
