Almost VPN Version 0.9 RC 2 Release Notes
Supported Platform
As of 0.9 RC2 Almost VPN runs on Tiger AND Panther. Obviously it have to do without lanuchd when it runs on Panther, but it's OK.
What Is New Since RC 1
- Panther support
- More consistent GUI behavior. Mostly in the area of disabling/enabling controls according to situation.
What Was Fixed Since RC 1
- I got couple reports of Almost VPN crashing while trying to save local password in key chain. I hope that I have fixed the problem.
What Still Does Not Work:
- You can not use more than one "Almost VPN" connection for given service at a time. What does it mean? You can configure 10 connections to different private e-mail servers, but you will be able to access only one of them at a time. On the other side, you can mount as many different volumes as you want as soon as they all come from the same server. This limitation will stay for recreational version of the product, but will be removed in professional version.
- "Almost VPN" connection for "Apple Remote Desktop" was not tested at all. I will appreciate a lot if someone who has ARD tries it and let me know. I got update on this one. It looks like ARD is too smart for its own good. It detects that you are trying to connect to your local host and refuse to do so. As a result ARD support moved to "professional" version.
