AlmostVPN/PRO Preview 1

First of all, I think when it is ready, it is not going to be called AlmostVPN/PRO. I decided that I do not like "/" in the name. It will be called AlmostVPN v 1.0 and the only difference between PRO and Recreational version is going to be that Recreational version will suggest that you should purchase PRO version every time when you are trying to use any of PRO features (I am still not sure if "Recreational" version will let you use "PRO" feature after this warning or not).

Secondary, one of the biggest area of complains about AlmostVPN was "not too intuitive" user interface. So AlmostVPN v 1.0 will come with brand new user interface. This Preview is mostly to let you get some idea about this interface, so you can provide your feedback "before it is too late :-)". You can provide your feedback either via e-mail or (even better) by posting on AlmostVPN News Group. Leaping Bytes are very good at listening to users, but "we can not fix the problem if we have not heard about it". So speak up please.

Movie 1. Defining Simple things

In this movie we defining 2 "SSH Gateways" ( leapingrodent and slidingpinguin ) and then telling AlmostVPN which services available on which host.

Movie 2. Defining NOT so Simple things

This movie gives us first glimpse of things which you could not do before - multi-hope tunnels. Here we define some services which are accessible only if you SSH to one host and then SSH to next host.

Movie 3. Using NOT so Simple things is very simple

In Movie 1 and Movie 2 we just "announced existence" of some services and indicate how they could be reached using SSH. Now we ready to define profile which provides all details necessary to build tunnels to this services.

Movie 4. Host Alias makes it even simplier

Now what you should do to be able to use AlmostVPN connection/Host Alias? This movie shows you how to create "alias host" with just drag and drop.
