At the beginning there was an Account...

All things you may want to configure with AlmostVPN require an account, so, as you might guess, it is a good idea to define one before you will try to do anything else. As a matter of fact, AlmostVPN will not let you go any further until you have defined at least one account.

Anatomy of Accounts Manager

To configure Accounts you have to use Accounts Manager View

To add new account press button. Once you added new account, you will have a chance to enter additional information. Host Name is the only mandatory field. You might want to enter User Name if it is different from your local user name and you are not using  SSH config file to associate user names with host names. Rule of thumb is that you have to provide as much information as you do when you connecting to given host using command line SSH. So, if you were asked to provide remote host password then you have to fill Password field (check Use Password box first to make Password field editable).
NOTE: When connecting to remote host you could be asked to provide remote host password or identity file passphrase. In this case you have to use the same Password field for either of these.
NOTE: If your office network is NATed then you should enter "inside" IP address of the server you connect to into Private Host Name field.
Once you entered all required information, it is a good idea to test it. To test account you have to push  button.
NOTE: In order to be able to test account, AlmostVPN needs to know your local password. So you have to "unlock" the  in the left top corner to enable Test Account button.
If information you provided is correct then Test Account button will change to . In case something is wrong, you will see Error dialog with short explanation of the problem and Test Account button will change to .
NOTE: If you never connected to particular host via SSH before then you could see following dialog (with different numbers)

You have to press Accept button. While connecting to particular server for the first time, SSH will remember this server fingerprint, so later it could warn you if you are trying to connect to the server that is impostor. In this case you will see dialog like this

In 9 cases out of 10 it happens because your IT guys reinstalled server OS without preserving identity files, but because in 1 out of 10 cases it might be indication of something VERY bad, you have to investigate the reason behind this message every time you see it.
