How-To: Define simple tunnel

Goal: To Define local tunnel to HTTP server running on SSH Server.

Step 1: Add SSH Server

Control-Click (Right Click) on SSH Servers item


Enter host name into New SSH Server dialog. If host name is resolvable, AlmostVPN will auto-fill Address. Otherwise, enter the address.


Switch to Account tab and enter user name and password (if needed). You will need to check Use check box to enter password.


Optionally, you can specify some additional settings on Options tab. For example, you can define which identity file to use with this server.


When you finish, press Done button. You should see something like this




Step 2: Define HTTP Service

Control-Click(Right Click) on newly created SSH Server item and select Service from the Menu


Select HTTP from Service Name combo box. AlmostVPN will auto-fill Port Name field


When you finish, press Done button. You should see something like this




Step 3: Add Profile

Control-Click (Right Click) on Profiles item.


Enter Profile Name into New Profile dialog.


You can specify some additional options in options tab.


When you finish, press Done button. You should see something like this


Drag HTTP service item and drop it on newly create profile.


You should see something like this. You may want to change Source Port Number.




Step 4: Start Profile

Select Control tab on AlmostVPN. You should see list of defined profiles.


Click Start button. Once green light appear next to profile name, you are done.
